‘Embedding
the Changes'
Training
We
recognise that it is you staff, managers and members that have to
make the changes to the way you work that will lead to cost savings
and efficiency improvements and, as well as a move to new systems
and electronic processes, this also needs greater understanding
of governance rules and commercial skills that may not be in place
today.
As
part of our involvement in supporting your modernisation programme,
we will identify where the lack of knowledge and skills might become
a barrier to successful roll-out and develop a structured training
and skills transfer plan to include staff, management and members,
as required.
We
have found that if you just change the business processes and introduce
the new technology using traditional communication programmes, take-up
is poor and the desired benefits will not accrue. The Imaginist
Evalue training takes staff, managers and members through an awareness
and alignment process, allows them to become confident with the
new concepts and explore the changes to their roles, while confirming
their importance to the success of the change process.
The
training is key to raising the capacity of your organisation to
roll out the procurement performance improvements and realise the
benefits. For example, a training programme for a small District
might comprise:
- an initial half-day workshop for
up to 15 people
- online delivery of 3 online self-teach
modules (eg Procurement vs Buying, Understanding e- Procurement,
Applying the Rules and Regulations)
- a final wrap-up half-day workshop.
The
cost will obviously be dependent on the scale of the requirement
and whether it is
undertaken as part of a larger scale exercise across a number of
authorities.
