You have undertaken a supplier/spend analysis. Now you need to turn that into savings - but you don't have the skilled resources to make it happen. We do!

Over 50 authorities are now undertaking this analysis, many working together to share the results and use the data to develop informed and balanced regional or sub-regional supplier rationalisation programmes.

We have been instrumental in helping Spikes Cavell develop its approach and our skilled procurement consultants can help you:

• Prepare for the supplier/spend analysis, getting your financial records to Spikes Cavell and understand the results when they come back
• Drill down and make skilled used of the analysis reports to quantify opportunities and target ‘quick wins' for action
• Carry out on-site work with your buyers and procurement team to get down to detail on one or two specific areas where benefits are to be had
• Use our procurement knowledge and experience to help you achieve the quick wins and put in place the basis for annual savings
• Create local/regional supplier strategies, ensuring that you gain the benefits from supplier rationalisation while maintaining your local and specialist supplier community .

We only provide this service if we are satisfied from an initial examination of the data that we can help you achieve at least 4-5 times the value of the contract. Actual cost-saving ratios can obviously be much, much higher.

We would suggest you bring us in to focus on one or two specific opportunities for savings and would expect to put in place the basis for substantive annual savings within a few weeks, unless delayed by your own internal decision-making processes, for which we obviously cannot take responsibility.

We work on- and off-site for as long as required to achieve results. Our charges are dependent on the size and spend of each organisation.

You can, of course, commission this service more than once to focus on different areas of opportunity over time. Each contract would be undertaken only if we thought the cost-benefit ratio is sufficient to justify the work.
